Leone Wheeler is Honorary Chair, Australian Learning Community. She is also an Associate of the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies, RMIT University and a Board Member of PASCAL International Observatory. Her Doctor of Education examined the development of a sustainable operational framework through the exploration of learning network models and practices based on case studies of working with Adult, Community and Further Education providers in Northern Melbourne. She has just returned from five years living in the Middle East (Abu Dhabi and Doha). In Doha she worked as a Research Fellow for Professor Rupert Maclean, former UNESCO Chair of Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) and Sustainable Development, Office of Applied Research & Innovation, College of North Atlantic-Qatar. Her role was as a Principal Investigator and Project Manager on a Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) project on Improving and Enriching the Human Capital of Qatar through the Identification and Development of 21st Century Skills for Sustainability and Employability’.
