Sally is the Coordinator Community Activation & Learning at Melton City Council and is responsible for leading the delivery of place-based inclusive learning for the community so to develop confident, socially connected, participatory lifelong learners equipped to live a full and active life, and contribute to a thriving and prosperous community. She also leads the development and implementation of Council’s learning city strategy, planning, policy and programming which provides strategic options for Council and its stakeholders to respond to community need at both the municipal and local neighbourhood level to deliver enhanced outcomes for community in engagement, empowerment, activity, and community learning objectives. An experienced people leader with a demonstrated history of working in government, community and education sectors. Skilled in Business Planning, Training Delivery, Management, Leadership, Lifelong Learning, VET, Online learning, E-learning Modules, financial management and Strategic Leadership. She is also a strong human resources professional, managing small and large teams. Sally is a learning and development professional with experience across all levels of formal education, lifelong learning and community learning. She is an educator first and foremost with a passion for all forms of learning and the changing world of work and skills. Sally has worked as a trainer, designer and has developed award winning programs for VET and universities. She is a passionate, knowledgeable and skilled learning specialist that is committed to the design, development and delivery of quality programs to help people transform their lives and achieve their dreams through learning, education and self-efficacy. This is particularly relevant to the ongoing provision of quality, accessible lifelong, lifewide and lifedeep learning programs to all. With tertiary qualifications in education, business, leadership, management and adult learning, Sally’s current passion is in building contemporary learning ecosystems and cities of learning that fully integrate formal, informal and non-formal learning to build communities to leverage place based, learner centric programs to equip individuals with the knowledge, tools and skills they need to collaborate, think critically and solve complex challenges to thrive in the modern world. Sally is happy to be working with Melton City Council, an international leader in the learning cities space, to fully embrace the challenge of placing learning at the heart of individual and community life by utilising learning and community development as a key driver for change. Melton’s City of Learning strategy does this by ensuring that all Melton citizens have equitable access to inclusive lifelong, lifewide and lifedeep learning opportunities that enable individual empowerment, build social connection and cohesion and drive economic development and cultural prosperity across all our communities.
